AI data training companies power the machine-learning revolution by providing labeled datasets, transcription services, and quality checks on AI outputs. With demand surging, hundreds of platforms now compete for contributors—yet not all are created equal. Some operate transparently and pay reliably, while others cut corners, delay payments, or deactivate accounts without explanation.
At The AI Tribune, our goal is to sift through real user experiences so you don’t waste time on endless interviews or unreliable platforms.
About Alignerr
Alignerr markets itself as a crowdsourced AI-training platform that onboards independent contractors through background checks, identity verification, and skill assessments. According to one contributor’s report,
“They have you pass a background check, ask for your photo id, social security number, and bank information, take exams that half the time don’t have relevant questions (take a stats exam get asked questions about cooking, what???). Then if you pass the background check AND as many exams as you can – called assessments – you sit there and wait on jobs to show up in the queue. They never do.”
Positive Reviews from Real Users

“I’ve yet to receive work, but they are one of the only AI Data training companies that respond to users. I’ll edit the review once I’ve acquired any projects.”
- John Lee (NL, Trustpilot) – Rated 5 / 5 stars -
“From what I’ve seen, the team leads were super supportive and helpful at first. I was part of one of the genesis projects from launch (when there were only about 100 people), and the staff had high hopes and were really transparent. … since payouts are weekly, I don’t see how they’d kick you out without paying for two weeks’ work. If you’ve been honest, try reaching out to support again, but I do have my doubts.”
- Temporary_Pattern649 (Reddit) -
“You have to understand that Alignerr has an extremely small crew. … This has caused the CEO to pause all projects this weekend until they can get the quality under control, and they’re going through and firing people who produced bad work.”
- The_Shaman– (Reddit) – on quality control -
“These claims are baseless, you can’t be fired for doing nothing wrong. … Just accept the outcomes and move on or rather contact support and explain yourself in detail.”
- allsxe (Reddit) – defending platform fairness -
“They already responded to you saying you’ll get paid for your work, but you got removed because you were doing subpar work.”

“My account was deleted without my request or consent … Their support refuses to provide documentation or proof, making it impossible to dispute the error.”
- Ines Abrunhosa dos Santos (PT, Trustpilot) – Rated 1 / 5 stars -
“fake .They dont pay.”
- debanginy (US, Trustpilot) – Rated 1 / 5 stars -
“The company simply bans you, claiming ‘negative behavior’ and ‘harassment that affects the community,’ without providing a single piece of evidence … It really seems like an excuse to avoid paying.”
- Matheus (BR, Trustpilot) – Rated 1 / 5 stars -
“Top performer unfairly deactivated without pay … They now refuse to pay me at all. They owe me a total of 4 hours and 10 minutes of completed work, which amounts to 126.26 USD.”
- Adele Heidenreich (NO, Trustpilot) – Rated 1 / 5 stars -
“Scammy company, total waste of time … they ignore every single support request, messages or emails. Very unprofessional and very suspicious.”
- Yoru Ten (IT, Trustpilot) – Rated 1 / 5 stars
Final Verdict: Is Alignerr Legit?
Based on real user reports, Alignerr exhibits a troubling pattern of account deactivations, delayed or withheld payments, and minimal support, despite some contributors praising its initial responsiveness and quality-control efforts. While a handful of contractors have seen prompt replies and transparent processes, the overwhelming majority cite non-payment and unexplained bans. Proceed with extreme caution and perform your own due diligence before committing time or sensitive information to this platform.
